Get involved with the Mustard Seed’s first-ever-but-hoping-to-become-an-annual event Pie-Off Challenge. Their goal is to raise $100,000 and 100,000 lbs of food to ensure the food bank can provide nutritious options for the people in our community facing food insecurity.
The challenge kicked off on Tuesday, September 23rd and will end during the weigh-in for the Great Canadian Food Fight at Ogden Point, Friday and Saturday, October 17th – 18th.

The Mustard Seed Clients
The food and funds collected through this challenge will be used to provide nutritious necessities, helping our clients and their families break free from the cycle of poverty.
The Mustard Seed serves over 7,000 clients within the region each month. Some are homeless, all are hungry. The majority of their clients are the region’s working poor. They’re earning enough to pay rent and essentials, but without your help they are often forced to choose between paying for utilities and putting food on the table, and food doesn’t always win. The Mustard Seed wants to help them break the cycle of poverty and become self-sufficient. The Pie-Off challenge gives them the ability to ensure their shelves are filled with healthy staples for the upcoming winter months when the demand is greatest.
